Spirit Works California Straight Rye

Whiskey From The Golden Land
We hand-selected this cask from Spirit Works Distillery in Sebastopol, California, right in the heart of Sonoma wine country. We love Spirit Works for a whole host of reasons. The distillery has been built from the ground up with sustainable practices in mind, and both of its founders got their start in environmental nonprofits. It’s also a family-run distillery, and has one of the very few female-led distilling teams in the United States. But most importantly of all, it makes wonderful whiskies (and gins, too!).
This single cask, our first from Spirit Works, is a 5-year-old straight rye whiskey. It was aged in a 53-gallon new American oak cask and was made from a mashbill of 70% organic rye, 10% malted rye, and 20% malted barley.
This straight rye whiskey has rich oak and baking spice flavors and deep chocolate notes, with hints of vanilla and lemon curd. Fresh, spicy, and balanced.

About Spirit Works Distillery
Spirit Works Distillery is based right in the heart of Sonoma wine country. The distillery has been built from the ground up with sustainable practices in mind, and both of its founders got their start in environmental nonprofits. It’s also a family-run distillery, and has one of the very few female-led distilling teams in the United States. It uses local and organic grains whenever possible, and it is one of the few distilleries in the country to make an authentic sloe gin, based on a recipe one of the founders brought over from his family in England. Its ryes, bourbons, wheat whiskies, and other spirits all show great complexity and depth of flavor.
