Lost Lantern hand-selected this cask from Smooth Ambler, which has long been on the vanguard of sourcing and blending whiskey with transparency and integrity. They’ve also been distilling and patiently aging their own whiskey as they forge a new whiskey tradition in the West Virginia mountains.

Distilled and aged in West Virginia, this straight bourbon whiskey was made from Smooth Ambler’s high-rye bourbon mashbill and was aged in a 53-gallon char 4 cask for six years. Rich and spicy on the nose with hints of orange and cocoa, the palate bursts with notes of dark chocolate, butterscotch, vanilla cream, and orange cake. This is one of the first high-rye bourbons from Smooth Ambler, and shows why we’re so excited about their whiskies.
