Lost Lantern hand-selected this cask from the family-owned Cedar Ridge Distillery in Iowa. The dramatic seasonal temperature swings of the Great Plains help create whiskies with a soft, clean, yet spicy character.

The best straight wheat whiskies manage to be both welcoming and powerful, and this single cask is no exception. This was made from 100% malted white winter wheat and was aged for 6 years in a 53-gallon barrel. It has a very spicy nose, with notes of black cherry and vanilla shortbread on the nose. The palate is bold and warm, with hints of baking spice and cinnamon coffee cake. Elegant and powerful.

You may not be very familiar with wheat whiskies. After all, there aren’t that many of them. But this cask is truly special, and we expect it will quickly become a favorite.
