Lost Lantern hand-selected this cask from the family-owned Cedar Ridge Distillery in Iowa. The seasonal temperature swings of the Great Plains help create whiskies with a soft, clean, yet spicy character. One of our most regular partners, Cedar Ridge is truly a shining light of American whiskey.
The first bourbon we ever released came from Cedar Ridge. This special single cask, released for Lost Lantern’s fifth anniversary, returns to the distillery. Made from 74% Iowa-grown corn, 14% rye, and 12% malted barley, this was aged for 5 years in a new oak cask. The rich, spicy nose has hints of apple and marshmallow. The palate is full and creamy, with balanced spice and oak and notes of apple and cherry pie. Fresh and spicy.
