Frey Ranch Distillery Nevada Straight Bourbon Single Cask

An Exceptional Whiskey Crop
For our Summer of Bourbon products, we have created a Virtual Roadtrip with a stop for each distillery! Check out this product’s stop here.
Lost Lantern hand-selected this cask from Frey Ranch Distillery in Northern Nevada, where Colby and Ashley Frey have converted their fifth generation family farm into one of the most exciting distilleries in the country. Committed to doing things the right way, no matter how long it takes, Frey Ranch is one of the only true estate distilleries in the U.S. All of the grains for all of the distillery’s whiskies are grown on site at the Ranch, in a uniquely arable pocket of Nevada that has been an agricultural oasis for well over a century.
This Frey Ranch single cask is a four-grain straight bourbon whiskey that was aged for 5 years in a 53-gallon barrel. It was made from 67% corn, 12% malted barley, 11% rye, and 10% wheat, all grown at Frey Ranch. It has notes of graham cracker and cardamom on the nose, with dried cherry and molasses cookie flavors on the palate and a very long finish.
This single cask is the perfect introduction to Frey Ranch’s style, bottled at cask strength with a flavor profile similar to their flagship four-grain bourbon. If you’ve never tried their whiskey before, or just can’t get enough of it, this is the place to start.

About Frey Ranch
Frey Ranch is located in northern Nevada, where Colby and Ashley Frey have transformed a fifth generation family farm into one of the most exciting distilleries in the country. Committed to doing things the right way, no matter how long it takes, Frey Ranch is one of the only true estate distilleries in the United States. That means that Frey Ranch grows every single grain used for any of its whiskies right on the farm. This would be impressive anywhere, but especially so in Nevada. But Frey Ranch is located in a unique farming oasis in the watershed of Lake Tahoe, an island of greenery in the shadow of the Sierra Nevada. And the Frey family has learned how to work their land and its unique environment over generations: they’ve been ranching or farming in the region since 1854, when Nevada was still a territory.
