Lost Lantern hand-selected this cask from Santa Fe Spirits. One of the country’s foremost American single malt producers, the New Mexico distillery is a pioneer of mesquite-smoked single malt. The process is a distinctly Southwestern take on the long tradition of smoked whiskies.

Our very first single cask was a mesquite-smoked single malt from Santa Fe Spirits. This special single cask, released for Lost Lantern’s fifth anniversary, returns to the distillery with a cask twice the age of the first one. Made from 100% malted barley, 30% of which was mesquite-smoked, this 6-year-old American single malt has notes of warm, citrusy smoke and tangerines on the nose. The palate is complex, with candied orange and dark chocolate notes balanced by a warm and welcoming smoke.
