Lost Lantern created this special limited-edition release for ‘Independent Spirits – A Whiskey Series.’ This docuseries, from the producers of the film The Water of Life, celebrates the history and future of independent bottlers around the world, from their origins in Scotland two centuries ago to the new and innovative forms they’re taking today. As the first fully transparent independent bottler of American whiskey, we are proud both to be featured in the series and to be part of this worldwide tradition.

This whiskey is a follow-up to two of our award-winning blended malts: Flame, an American mesquite-smoked blended malt, and Shadow, an American peated blended malt. Those releases explored the flavors of mesquite and peat through an American context, but separately. This release embraces both at the same time. It is an homage to the new and the old: it brings together an American take on one of the oldest types of whiskey in the world, peated single malt, with a new tradition, mesquite-smoked single malt from the Southwestern United States. These come together to create a whiskey that is warm and bright and cool and dark all at once.

Smoked whiskies take many forms. This one is a billowing bonfire.
