Lost Lantern hand-selected this cask from Whiskey Acres in DeKalb, IL. A fifth-generation family farm in the heart of Illinois corn country, Whiskey Acres is one of the only true estate distilleries in the United States. They grow, mill, mash, ferment, distill, and age their whiskey all on-site—while also experimenting extensively with unique grain varietals, grown with modern agricultural precision.

This straight bourbon whiskey, our first from Whiskey Acres, was aged for 5 years in a 53-gallon barrel. It was made with 75% yellow dent corn, 15% wheat, and 15% malted barley. The nose is bright and balanced, with notes of honey-drizzled cornbread, nutmeg, and roasted coffee. The palate is soft and rounded, with layers of oak, spice, vanilla, and caramel.
