Independent bottlers can curate and elevate, often showcasing aspects of a distillery that a consumer wouldn’t normally have access to. “Before we started Lost Lantern, we complained about how this didn’t exist for American whiskey for years,” Nora Ganley-Roper says. She started Lost Lantern with Adam Polonski in 2018, in Weybridge, Vermont, with a focus on craft whiskey, releasing single casks and a range of blends. “There’s a real need for that voice pointing out all the great things that are happening in more regional settings,” she added.
