High Wire South Carolina Straight Bourbon

A Southern Gem
Lost Lantern hand-selected this cask from High Wire Distilling Co. in Charleston, South Carolina. Founded by Ann Marshall and Scott Blackwell in 2013, High Wire makes unique whiskies and other spirits that are deeply rooted in the agricultural traditions, climate, and foodways of the coastal South.
This straight bourbon whiskey is made from 100% Jimmy Red corn, a rare heirloom varietal that High Wire helped bring back from the brink of extinction. Aged for 3 years in a 53 gallon barrel from Charlois Cooperage, this has a deep, nutty, sweet flavor, with notes of fresh orange zest, walnuts, and sweet cornbread. It is our first release from High Wire and from the coastal Southeast.
